  8.     Many of you have indicated that you have been having problems
  9.     with file transfers to and from this BBS.  First, file uploads
  10.     have been disabled pending resolution of a bug report submitted
  11.     to Sun regarding problems with their X25 package.  File downloads
  12.     on the other hand, are possible if you use the following 
  13.     procedure:

  15.           - call Telenet at 8-N-1 and use the correct hunt/confirm
  16.         sequence to wake up the port (see hunt.txt in the pcp
  17.         file area)
  18.           - use <cr> or D1 at the TERMINAL= prompt
  19.           - enter:     SET 0:0,57:1,63:0
  20.           - enter:     C PURSUIT
  21.           - when you get the CONNECTED message, immediately enter:

  23.                @<cr>
  24.  
  25.           - you will see TELENET and the @
  26.           - enter:     SET 2:0,4:1
  27.           - enter:     CONT
  28.           - and the BBS fill display (or finish displaying) the
  29.

  33.     After you do your file transfer, you may find that you have lost
  34.     your character echo.,  If this happens, enter;
  35.  
  36.         <cr>@<cr>
  37.         TELENET will respond enter:
  38.         SET 4:1
  39.         CONT
  40.     
  41.     If you are not going to be doing file transfers, you can call in
  42.     using 7-E-1 and ignore all the SET commands.  We regret the 
  43.     complexity of the logon procedures, but we're hoping that Sun 
  44.     will be able to supply us with a version of the X25 package which
  45.     will work better in our environment.
